CHICAGO
FILMMAKERS DEBUT ACCLAIMED SHORT FILM ONLINE
CHICAGO, JULY 15, 2008
– LOOK AT RUBBISH,
a young art collective based in Chicago, will finally release their
award-winning short film ÔEyelidsÕ online. The film has received accolades from around the
world, including a spot at the 2008 Cannes Short Film Corner.
As of July
15, ÔEyelidsÕ is
available to the general public and can be viewed on the Look At Rubbish collective Web site at http://www.LookAtRubbish.com/.
The short
film and the childrenÕs book on which it was based were both written and
directed by 21-year-old Brad Bischoff. The film was produced along with the
other young members of Look At Rubbish.
ÔEyelidsÕ has grown from its creation for a
sophomore-level film production class at Columbia College Chicago to be shown
all over the world. In addition to Cannes, the film most recently received a
mention at a festival in Tuscany, Italy.
The film
tells the story of Pal, a young artist, who falls in love with Iris, the
prettiest girl in his art class. He daydreams of living on the inside of her
eyelids so she would have to notice him.

Rubbish describes
itself as Òa heaping pile of creatives turning worn-down media trash into
homemade treasures.Ó The Chicago-based art collective is comprised of five
young aspiring filmmakers and designers, all of whom are under the age of 22.

Festival
The
internationally renowned Cannes Film Festival is hosted in France each May.
Since 2004, the festival has offered short filmmakers an opportunity to
spotlight their films at The Short Film Corner. Nearly 2,000 films from 80
countries are featured in The Short Film Corner each year where short
filmmakers are given the opportunity to network and show their work.
